The Lao Tasting Menu is a tasting of Lao dishes, served at dinner at Roots, The Namkhan's farm-to-table restaurant. Roots sits on a terrace beside our own organic eco-farm, above the Khan River, and is the resort's one central kitchen, cooking with more than 60 products from the farm. Choose the tasting menu when you reserve a table for dinner at Roots. Seatings run every evening from 18:00 to 21:00, so you can sit down as the light fades over the river or after dark. The same menu is the dinner in two of our evening day passes: Gym, Pool & Dinner, and Pool, River Meditation & Lao Dinner. The Namkhan is about 15 minutes from Luang Prabang town by tuk-tuk or taxi, with a free shuttle from the city centre. It is a simple way to try Lao food: a tasting of Lao dishes, served at your table at Roots.

What is the Lao Tasting Menu?

When is it served?

At dinner. Tables at Roots have seatings every evening at 18:00, 18:30, 19:00, 19:30, 20:00, 20:30 and 21:00.

Is the tasting menu part of a day pass?

Yes. It is the dinner in Gym, Pool & Dinner, and in Pool, River Meditation & Lao Dinner.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before dinner.

Do I pay online?

No. There is nothing to pay online: pay at the resort, or by the BCEL payment link we send with your confirmation.

How do I get to The Namkhan?

The resort is about 15 minutes from Luang Prabang town by tuk-tuk or taxi, and about 15 minutes from the airport by taxi. There is also a free shuttle between the city centre and the resort; message us on WhatsApp for times and pick-up points.
