Roots cooks with produce from The Namkhan's own organic farm, a few steps from the kitchen, and serves it on a terrace looking over the Khan River. For lunch at Roots Luang Prabang residents and visitors simply reserve a table here; there is nothing to pay in advance.
You choose from the menu at the table, order with our team and pay at the restaurant when you finish. Seatings run from 11:30 to 14:00 and each lasts 1 hour 30 minutes, so there is time for a slow meal before a walk through the gardens or down to the river beach.

PaymentOnce we confirm your time, our reservations team sends a BCEL payment link for the full amount. Pay it within 12 hours, at the latest 2 hours before your visit, or the place is released.
CancellationFree until 4 hours before.

Tables are available every day, with seatings at 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30 and 14:00.
How long does lunch last?
Each seating is 1 hour 30 minutes.
Can I book for a group?
Yes. A single booking can include up to 12 guests.
How far in advance do I need to book, and can I cancel?
Please book at least 2 hours before your chosen start time. You can cancel free of charge up to 4 hours before your reservation.
How do I pay?
Nothing is paid when you book. You order from the menu at the table and pay at the restaurant.
How do I get to The Namkhan?
The resort is about 15 minutes from Luang Prabang town by tuk-tuk or taxi. There is also a free shuttle between the city centre and the resort; message us on WhatsApp for times and pick-up points.
